Suzuki Offers Incentives for NOT Buying a Kizashi

Incentives are one of the oldest tricks in the car retailer’s book. The principle (which applies to almost any product sold on Planet Earth) is simple: The automotive producers bet on the fact that if a customer is offered a certain discount for the price of a car he will be convinced that he should drive out in that vehicle and will instantly sign the purchase/lease contract.

However, it seems that Suzuki is offering you money if you DON’T buy its cars. It seems that either the automaker has missed the discount classes or it is incredibly confident that its products are able to convince any customer. Our money are on the second explanation. But let’s see what this is all about.

Suzuki’s U.S. arm has just launched an innovative promotion, offering $250 to anyone who takes the Suzuki Kizashi sedan for a test-drive and subsequently purchases a competing sedan in three day’s time. One has to prove that he has bought a 2010 four cylinder engine-powered Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Chevrolet Malibu, Mazda 6, Ford Fusion or Toyota Camry. We can see that the inventory doesn’t include the full list of competitors, but this doesn’t mean that the campaign is less bold.

And there’s more. Suzuki is also offering $100 to buyers who chose an Audi A4 or Acura TSX after taking the Kizashi for a spin. So the Japanese carmaker is so convinced of its vehicle’s abilities that it is also taking on premium vehicles.
