Suzuki Grand Vitara Marine Concept Ready for 2011 SEMA

In an effort to bring Suzuki’s automotive and outboard maritime motors divisions togehter, the students at the Ohio Technical College (OTC) have developed the Suzuki Grand Vitara Marine Concept, a development that is being displayed at this year’s SEMA event.

We are dealing with a Grand Vitara that has had its roof chopped off and now comes with boat-like side windows, serious off-road tires, a boat-style radar arch, a nautical paint job and a... outboard engine strapped to its rear end.

At this point, you’re probably thinking that we’re dealing with an amphibous creation, but this car is worse at sailing than Jeremy Clarkson’s Toybota, so it’s an all-show project.

"After a successful project build with the customized Hot Wheels inspired 1957 Chevy Bel Air for industry veteran Vic Edelbrock, we were very excited to start this project vehicle with Suzuki," said Tom King, director of enrollment management, OTC. "This project will provide OTC students in our Restoration, Automotive and our Custom Paint and Graphics Programs with another unique learning opportunity in vehicle modification."
