Superchips Tunes Ford 1.6L EcoBoost Engine

British plug-in ECU specialists Superchips have created a brand new power kit for the 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine that Ford sells in a number of cars - the Focus, Galaxy, C-Max, Grand C-Max, Mondeo and S-Max.

The kit brings a total of three levels of tune, so there’s something for everybody from the avid speed freak to the person wanting a bit of extra grunt - 150PS (148bhp,) 160PS (158 bhp) and 182PS (178bhp).

The kit costs £445 and can be easily fitted using Superchips’ Bluefin ‘Plug-in and Go’ system.

Here are the three levels of tune available with the kit:

  • 150PS 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost C-Max, Grand C-Max and Focus models(Superchips’ Bluefin gains 30bhp @ 5341rpm and 51Nm @ 1923rpm
  • 160PS 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost Galaxy, S-Max and Mondeo models(Superchips’ Bluefin gains 34bhp @ 5341rpm and 59Nm @ 1923rpm
  • 182PS 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost used in Ford Focus(Superchips’s Bluefin gains 20bhp @ 3760rpm and 44Nm @ 1923rpm
