Supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is More Powerful Than a Hellcat

German tuning specialist Geiger Cars has a soft spot for all things American. After creations such as a 700-plus horsepower S550 Mustang, supercharged C7 Corvette and a 620 horsepower Camaro Z/28, Geiger took a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and infused it with berserkness. If you like your SUVs fast, this American bruiser with some German “common sense” will be to your go-faster liking.

Priced at $64,695, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is a mid-size SUV that can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.8 seconds. The belly of the beast is taken up by a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter HEMI V8 with 475 horsepower. It’s an aggressive, athletic, awesome creation that we also like to bits, as you can find in our review of the 4x4 monster.

As if the formula wasn’t good enough, Geiger Cars turned the madness up to 11. If you can source €23,900 on top of the €66,900 sticker price of a standard Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, you’ll receive a 718 PS blunderbuss with 776 Nm of torque for good measure. In American money, that equals 708 horsepower and 572 lb-ft of all-wheel drive twist.

The significant boost in output comes courtesy of a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, an intercooler, and uprated pistons. An ECU upgrade (new fuel and ignition software) and larger oil cooler, performance suspension, better anti-roll bars and 22-inch wheels and tires (305/35) are added to the mix. Performance figures on this gargantuan SUV that weighs more than 2,335 kilograms (5,150+ pounds)?

0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 295 km/h (183 mph). To put those stats into perspective, a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which costs €86,000 in Europe, does the stint in 3.7 seconds.
