This is one of those really sad car-related stories where we tell you about an ultra-rare car which has suffered a great deal of damage. However, this wasn’t accidentally inflicted, but rather carefully planned and executed. The story is about a Ford GT supercar which was stolen back in June, from a Rancho Santa Fe home.
The owner said that he paid around $250,000 for it, back in 2004, and it is one of only 4,038 2005-2006 model year cars. He went on to say that he was not aware of the car’s disappearance until he was notified by detectives which came to talk to him. His car had been found in a warehouse, chopped into little pieces - the thieves, Gabriel Castano and George Moore who were arrested in relation to the GT and other stolen cars and goods, were planning to sell the parts, which if sold separately, would be worth even more than the actual car.

It is a real shame that such a rare and interesting car, one of the best automotive creations to come out of the US in recent years, ends up as a pile of bits in a deserted warehouse, so that some criminals can make money off it.
