Steampunk MINI Countryman by Carlex Design [Photo Gallery]

Steampunk is the perfect blend of old and new, a modern version of magic, alchemy and arcane science all combined into one genre, used in literature, science fiction movies and obviously art as well. There are, however, very few applications in the car world... until now.

Polish car customizers Carlex Design have taken one lifestyle crossover SUV that very close to our hearts and combined it with a bit of steampunkness to create one awesome MINI Countryman that you’re never going to forget.

The exterior features a satin gray body combined with copper/bronze wheels, a stripe across the side level with the door handles and roof. Blacked out details include headlights and taillights.

Inside, the carpets have been replaced by wood and all the leather, including the dash is brown. Everything that could be copper-plated or painted has been covered, including the pedals, steering wheel, instruments and air vents.
The car is still a work in progress by our understanding, but bit of the seat and the center of the steering wheel have been left intentionally open to mimic those skeleton watches that you can peer inside of.
