SSC Ultimate Aero II Revealed

The automotive world is currently in the middle of one of the hottest battles, with multiple automotive producers fighting for the production vehicle top speed record.

The current holder of the record is Bugatti, which recently unleashed a hardcore version of the Veyron. Dubbed the Veyron Super Sport, the machine managed to reach no less than 268 mph (431 km/h).

The record previously belonged to the Shelby Ultimate Aero TT, which can take its driver up to 256 mph (412 km/h). And Shelby Supercars’s isn’t going to leave the trophy in Bugatti’s display for too long. The U.S. company announced that is preparing to launch the SSC Ultimate Aero II, a vehicle that is aimed at becoming the king of velocity.

The hypercar, which has a design signed by Jason Castriotta (the man behind projects like the Bertone Mantide), has already made its way into our world. The vehicle was unveiled last month at Monterey. As you can imagine, the event only included selected guests.

However, a leaked image of the monster was published by Jalopnik, allowing us to see it in all its glory and making the teaser shown on Shelby’s website useless.

The Ultimate Aero II comes with an aggressive image, and can be easily recognized as a creation that belongs to Castriotta.

We won’t have to wait too long to see what lies under the stunning appearance of the vehicle, as this will be reveled to mortals on September 8.

Let’s not forget that Bugatti and Shelby Supercars are not alone in this battle, as Koenigsegg also announced its intentions to conquer the top speeder title with the Agera.
