Last year, SsangYong used the Frankfurt Auto Show to introduce a concept car that was set to preview the future of the brand, in the form of the XIV-1 Concept and now the automotive producer is making a new step on this path, previewing the XIV-2 Concept, which is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The XIV-2 (eXciting User Interface Vehicle 2) brings a rolling roof, aiming to attract younger audience to the brand. The vehicle is powered by a 1.6-liter diesel unit or a petrol pwoerplant with the same cubic capacity, with both units meeting Euro VI emission standards.
“SsangYong is developing the XIV-2 (eXciting User Interface Vehicle 2) concept as a premium CUV (crossover utility vehicle). A strategic model for the global market, its styling cue is based around ‘a special experience with fun’, and blends the characteristics of a robust and powerful SUV with the dynamic style of an open top sports coupe,” a company statement reads.
