Street and Racing Technology (SRT) enthusiasts want the Chrysler-owned performance brand to develop a compact vehicle what would compete against the Subaru BRZ, SRT boss Ralph Gilles revealed.
Speaking to Auto Guide, the brand’s CEO said that a lot of owners and fans have asked him “when are you going to have your own BRZ”. Although he declined to say whether SRT is working on a sportscar smaller than the Viper, he admitted he’s “happy to see that a lot of our fans want that.”
Chrysler hasn’t offered a compact wearing an SRT badge since 2009, when the Dodge Caliber SRT4 was discontinued. Powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four, the Caliber SRT4 was offered with 285 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque.
Do you want Chrysler to bring the SRT4 back on its compact cars? If so, which vehicle from the current lineup should get a souped-up version? Remember that the 2014 Subaru BRZ starts from $25,595.
