Spyshots: smart fortwo Mule Has Production Front End
Co-developed with the French at Renault, the new smart still is tiny, but maybe its proportions have grown a little bit. The engine is still at the back, and this time rumor has it the engine is a 0.9-liter turbo we already know from the Clio. Rumor has it, a tuned version of that engine will have as much as 110 hp, probably going into the Brabus version of the car. Right from launch, there will also be an electric version of the car as well.
We've seen this Twingo-based test mule before, but there's something different about it this time, isn't there? The front end is completely camouflaged and there's a good reason for that. Some of the panels are from the future production car. The grille looks just like fourjoy concept from Frankfurt, for example.
The interesting thing is this smart appears to have a hood now. Anybody who's tried to put fluids in a fortwo will tell you it needed one very badly.
Expect a full reveal of your girlfriend's next car at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
