Porsche engineers took the Audi Q5 platform, churned everything up into a paste and added their own special sauce. Why? Because they wanted an SUV to sit below the Cayenne, much like the Cayman sits below the 911.
Did you guys think we had forgotten about the baby Cayenne? Well we didn't and here are the latest images of the SUV. The automaker has promised us this will be as agile as a tiger and as beautiful as a coupe, but we know they simply have a new niche they'd like to fill.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with a cheaper Porsche. The Macan will also reportedly be powered by the first Porsche four-cylinder engine since the 968. Hopefully, that's somewhere along the lines of the 2.0 TFSI 300 PS unit from the Audi S3. There was always talk that Porsche took Audi's V6 and made it a lot better, blowing every Ingolstadt engineer's mind. Now we have a good idea what that means. The 2014 Panamera has a new 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine that makes 420 PS. However, we've head that the most powerful Macan Turbo S will only have that much and that the lesser Turbo will have 400.

The good news about all this speculation is that it's going to end very soon. The Manan will show its official self in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, meaning we have less than two months to wait.
