While you were sitting on a wallet full of cash, waiting for Opel to revive the Calibra, you've probably gone a little old. A wife appeared on the scene a few years back and after that she dropped 2.5 children. That Calibra is now useless because you need a car that will take the biggest Ikea flatpacks, you need the Insignia Sports Tourer.
The good news is that you don't have to give up on having fun because Opel makes a very nice OPC Sport Tourer, powered by a 2.8-liter V6 producing 325 PS and 435 Nm of torque. It also brings a huge trunk opening to the game, one which impresses us every time we see it swallow an Ikea bed.

In a month's time, Opel will reveal a facelift for both the OPC Sports Tourer and the sedan model, and of course VXR equivalents as well. They will have updated headlights, a bigger grille, redesigned bumpers, a refreshed interior and a brand new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

We still don't know if more power or better fuel consumption will be added, but the OPC is already almost as strong as an Audi S4, so there's no reason to complain if they leave it as-is.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
