Toyota released a facelift for the Aygo in January last year and now our spy photographers have caught the prototype for the next generation of the car. The new Aygo is well into the development process, which means that the model is more than covered in camouflage.
However, we can get a few ideas about the future city car’s aesthetic features. It seems that the new Aygo will maintain the silhouette and size of the current vehicle, so the difference will probably be in the details.
The adjacent images reveal the position of the rear lights, which will be placed a bit higher. It seems that the Aygo will keep the current model’s all-glass rear hatch - as you can see, the rear wiper is placed directly on the window.
For the new generation of the Aygo, Toyota no longer works with PSA. After ending the small vehicle JV with the French company, the Japanese automaker joined forces with General Motors.
The new Toyota Aygo is expected to make its public debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
