Spyshots: Mercedes CLS Shooting Break with Less Camo
In 2010, Mercedes tested the waters to see if customers wanted a wagon version of the CLS with a concept called simply “Mercedes Benz Shooting Break Concept”. Now, the car has gone way past the point of no return, as a full production version is almost ready for its unveiling.
Our teams have caught up with the CLS Shooting Break in its must undisguised configuration yet, only the hindquarters being revealed.
This car will likely not be able to challenge the E-Class Wagon, but should still be mighty impressive to say the least.
The range of engines will likely be very similar to that of the CLS four-door, which is probably why our spy photographers were able too spot so many test vehicles in one place. Expect the range to start with the CLS350, featuring the 3.5-liter V6 with 306 hp. Of more use if you’ll find yourself in a hurry is the twin-turbo V8 of the CLS550 (500 in Europe), which will have 402 horsepower.
