Mercedes is working hard to develop the CLC, a vehicle that is situated at the border between a sedan and a four-door coupe and out spy photographers have recently caught the vehicle during a cold weather testing session.
The vehicle will be underpinned by the same platform found under the new A-Class and B-Class, but it has earned the “baby CLS” unofficial designation thanks to its low roof line. In the US, the CLC will be launched with a turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol delivering 201 hp, while in Europe it will also come with diesel powerplants. In addition to that, AMG could develop its own version of the car, which should deliver over 300 hp, using a downsized powerplant.
Customers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed automatic gearbox, with the car also being available with front- or four-wheel-drive. The Mercedes-Benz CLC should hit the marker next year, with the vehicle promising to offer quite an interesting bouquet of assets.
