Spyshots: Ford Focus ST Facelift at Nurburgring

The Focus ST is about as new as they come in the Ford model range, but it's still getting a facelift. Why? Because the rest of the Focus range dates back to 2010 (in Europe) and is getting a makeover, so the ST has to adopt a new family face.

We've spotted the Focus ST going round the Nurburgring recently, with only the front bumper camouflaged. Changes are really small though, mainly targeting the upper grille. This has been moved higher ever so slightly and has a slightly less pronounced design.

Do we like what we see? Maybe. The Focus ST has the face of a bottom-feeding fish and that appears to change with this facelift. A bit of chrome wouldn't hurt either, especially since its rival the Golf GTI has a lot of premium feel to its design.

We're looking forward to seeing the new Focus ST design, probably at a major motor show like Detroit (January 2014).

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
