Spyshots: Ferrari Enzo Successor Test Mule

Put together the soul of a legendary hero, the body of a god, a new HY-KERS energy recovery system, a mid engined V12 engine and you get the formula for the next Ferrari hypercar, likely to be called the F70.

The car will be a veritable successor to the Enzo and is expected to arrive in 2013. The new Enzo is expected to have as much as 920 horsepower, from a combination of a new 7.3-liter V12 engine developing 800 horsepower and the 120 horsepower KERS system.

Under that mountain of camouflage, Ferrari is working on radically lightweight chassis, which reportedly sets the benchmark. As a result, the new Ferrari will likely walk all over the Bugatti Veyron and take its rightful place at the center of any bedroom wall.

It’s too bad that Ferrari is hiding that body, because we’d love to see the shape of the future hypercar monster. But it looks like we can expect huge scoops on the side of the upper doors.
