Spyshots: BMW M235i Cabrio Caught with Its Top Down

BMW is continuing its niche war and we’ll soon get to meet yet another new model from the Germans, the 2 Series Convertible, that is bound to be launched in just a few months.

Our spy photographers even caught up with it while it was testing on public roads, this time with its top down, for the first time since tests began.

Apart from noticing that crucial detail, we also spotted the bi-xenon headlights, the dual tailpipes at the back and the blue brake calipers hiding behind the wheels of the car, meaning only one thing: we’re looking at the M235i here.

So, we’ll be getting a soft top version of the brilliant M235i Coupe. This is great news, especially since the Coupe sounds absolutely crazy when revved hard, even with the stock exhaust. Imagine what it would be capable of with the M Performance kit and without a roof. Heaven!

Apart from the M Performance Automobile, we’ll also be getting several 2-liter petrol and diesel variants, like the 228i and 220i and 220d, at least at first, the diesel being, of course, reserved for European and Asian markets. Prices should be slightly bigger than for the Coupe alternatives, meaning the M235i Convertible will probably be close to $50,000 in the US.
