Spyshots: All-New Toyota Aygo Spotted

Toyota’s Aygo is a highly successful car, which along with its sister cars, the Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 sold very well in Europe, being bought and driven by a very wide variety of people, from pizza delivery men to business men who use it as a second car to pop to the shops.

It was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and later went into production at the Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile Czech joint venture, in Kolin, the Czech Republic. Now, seven years later, we have the first spyshots of the all new Aygo, which while it may not underpin Citroen and Peugeot’s new small city cars (which will be done in collaboration with GM), it is a very important car nevertheless.

Not a lot of information is known about the new car, but we expect it to retain the 1.0-liter engine, which Toyota still uses in a variety of small cars, and since the collaboration with PSA is over, the 1.4-liter HDI diesel will not be making an appearance.

The car itself looks to be very similar to its predecessor, in terms of shape - it also seems to retain the full-glass rear hatch, which was a trademark of the old model. However, Toyota need to sort out the old car’s less than satisfactory interior - easily its weakest link.
