Spyshots: All-New 2014 VW Beetle Cabriolet
Today, we bring you the very first spyshots of the 2014 Beetle Cabrio with no camouflage. Both the headlights and the taillights are covered up with plastic foil to make them look like the old Beetle Cabrio, but they’re not fooling anybody. There are also a few fake, sticker turn signals on the bumper covers.
While we’re on the subject, the old Beetle was a girly looking so and so, a car that you’d imagine Hannah Montana or Selena Gomez. The new Beetle Coupe has a bit better at not being girly, but sadly, taking the roof off has compromised its unisex appeal.
We can expect powertrain configurations to be carried over completely from the Beetle coupe to the cabrio, starting with the 1.2 TSI in Europe and going all the way up to the Turbo and TDI in the US. VW might also go ahead and make the R version as well, but so far no prototypes have been spotted testing.
