Spyshots: 2016 Jaguar F-Pace Shows More Production Details

We've been tracking the development of the Jaguar F-Pace in far enough places as the Colorado mountains or the United Arab Emirates. However, because the first crossover in company history also needs to be sporty, most of the testing is done at the Nurburgring.

JLP has an entire test facility located at the Green Hell. While new restrictions will stop them from ever setting a lap record in the F-Pace, we're confident they'll develop a mental machine.

You might think that a 4x4 is not worthy of the letter F. However, the F-Type is now equipped with all-wheel drive as a Porsche-fighting option. While the two models might not look the same, you could argue there's a family resemblance.

The F-Pace will share its underpinnings with the new XE compact sedan, which means it will directly compete with the BMW X3 and the new Mercedes GLC. The engine range will thus be mainly made up of 2-liter turbo mills. However, everybody is mostly excited with the flagship model. That will get the supercharged 3-liter V6 that delivers both the aural and dynamic experience.

The range will kick off with the 163 PS 2-liter turbodiesel, which will be followed by an 180 PS model. The petrol version, which is the one making the trip across the pond, will pack 200 PS.

Most F-Pace models will be introduced in 2016. However, development of the fully electric model has begun, with reports suggesting it will land in 2017 with a range of 300 miles (483 km).
