Hyundai is pushing ahead with one of the biggest model offensives we've ever seen from them. The i10 is new, the i20, the i30 is relatively new and now sedans are coming as well, in all shapes and sizes.
Perhaps their biggest project is the new Genesis, which is being benchmark tested agains the BMW 5 Series of all things. But most Hyundai buyers can't afford that flagship. For them, a new Sonata is on the way and looking gorgeous.

The current Sonata was launched just a while back, as a 2011 model year in America if we remember correctly. Which means they are likely using the existing platform to create a new generation and keep maintain segment growth.

The new Sonata and Genesis will be the first cars to feature te new Fluidic Precision design, with tighter lines meant to give an upmarket feel. It's clear this test prototype has LED taillights, LED accents for the headlights and Xenon lenses.

This new model is being introduced because the Sonata faced very stiff competition from the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The mid-size car has also yet to pick up any real momentum in Europe, where compacts still dominate Hyundai's sales.

This prototype was seen in Germany, near the famous Nurburgring test track. We've been told it will be ready to be revealed next year and will be sold as a 2015MY.
