The current European designed Focus hatchback went on sale in 2011 on the old continent, followed by a 2012 US launch. Despite the singular design language and one of the most engaging drives in the segment, this compact has not been a smash hit there.
The Focus among the top 2 nameplates in the world, depending if you ask Toyota or Ford. So there's plenty of money to re-engineer the Focus into a successful cars ever. We've caught up with Ford engineers working in Northern Sweden.

They are working on a significant refresh for the Focus, just like they did with the Fiesta that went on sale recently. Changes will include a new design language, radical changes being made front grille, headlights, bumpers, rear lights and more.

We knew about most of these things, but the fact that they are using prototype systems for the taillights has not been seen before. It means a completely new taillight is being.

We also have the very first photos of the interior for 2014. The ergonomics have drastically improved and all the buttons are within reach. That phone keyboard nonsense is gone and the quality of the materials used is visibly improving. It also looks like they installed a new ord SYNC with MyFord Touch interface.
