Introduced back in 2006, the third-generation Ducato/Jumper/Boxer will receive an updated fascia that will include new headlamps and redesigned hood, grille and bumper, while the rear end will receive a set of reshaped taillights. Other details about the facelifted van have yet to be revealed, but the engine lineup should come with a few modifications as well.

As a reminder, the Fiat Ducato will become available as the Ram ProMaster in the United States starting with the 2014 model year, which means the facelifted version is likely to cross the Pond as well. The redesigned van will be unveiled sometime next year.

Also, the 2014 ProMaster will most likely be available in three sizes - 1500, 2500 and 3500 - with a starting price tag of $26,530 (plus destination). Moreover, in the engine department, it is worth noted that Ram will offer two powertrains with the new van.

Let's see what each one can do. First on the list we can find a Fiat Ducato-sourced turbo 3.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine. This mill is good for 174 horsepower working together with a five-speed Dualogic automated manual.

Clients looking for more performance have a second choice to make, namely the Chrysler 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 gasoline delivering 280 horsepower. The unit is managed through a conventional six-speed automatic.

In other news, Ram plans to introduce the ProMaster city small van in 2015. Truth be told, this will only be a rebadged version of the Fiat Doblo, a light panel van that is currently available for European-based customers.

Once out in the open, the small carrier will have to compete against the likes of Ford Transit Connect and the environment-friendly Nissan NV200.
