With the second-generation Doblo around since 2009, Fiat is currently developing and testing a facelift version that will be introduced for the 2015 model year.
Caught for the very first time by our extremely agile photographers, a camouflaged prototype reveals that the small van will get a redesigned front end that will include a new bumper and grille, restyled headlamps with LED, and a reshaped hood.
Round the back, the Italians have rolled out a new bumper, different taillight graphics and it appears that the lower part of the boot has been modified as well. The interior is also in for an overhaul, but the cabin covers prevented our spies from getting new details using their camera lenses.
Little else is known about the 2015 Doblo, but word has it the vehicle will be built at the same plant in Turkey. European customers should expect a range of MultiJet diesel engines, as well as a 1.4-liter petrol and a CNG option.
The facelifted Fiat Doblo will also become available as the 2015 Ram ProMaster City in the United States. The rebadged van will replace the Dodge Caravan-based C/V Tradesman and will compete against the Ford Transit Connect, the Nissan NV200 and the Chevrolet City Express.
The “American” small van is likely to be offered with a turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine and the 2.0-liter Tigershark unit available in the Dodge Dart.
