A full-bodied prototype of the next generation Mercedes C-Class has once again been caught by our spies. This is an extremely important car for Daimler, as it will be aimed directly at buyers of the brand new, and very successful BMW 3-Series.
As per usual, the car is heavily camouflaged, since the styling direction for the car is new and diverts from the current car’s edgy design. The black panels that have been placed over the sheet metal hide almost all the design lines, however, the front can be partially seen, revealing new headlights and a lower bumper much like the F800 Style Concept.

The shape of the headlights allows for a more streamlined design that the current generation, with the body offering a more normal sedan shape, but stretched a little for more legroom.

Powertrain changes include the introduction of a new eight- or nine-speed automatic gearbox and new hybrid powertrains not yet available on any other car.

The new generation of C-Class has already received a production slot at the US plant in Alabama, indicating a focus on the North American market.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
