After sister brand Hyundai brought a tweaked ix35/Tucson to market, it's time for Kia to refresh its Sportage SUV, which is built on the same platform.
To be honest, the Sportage is one of the boldest and best-looking vehicles Kia makes, but a refresh will take place at the front in order to bring the model which was launched in 2010 bang up-to-date.
It looks like under that camo, new headlights, LED daytime runners, fog lights and tail lights are being installed. However, the overall look of the SUV could remain largely the same.
We also have the first photo of the interior, which shows the Sportage will have the FlexSteer system from the cee'd, as well as a better infotainment system.
We don't hear anything about new engines being added to the range, so the 2014 Sportage will likely only have more eco-friendly versions of existing CRDi and GDi units. The Koreans have been working on a new turbo 1.2 T-GDi which could be a violable alternative to the base 1.6 engine sold in Europe, but it's too early to tell if this is going into the SUV.
