Yesterday, we showed you the M4 Cabrio undergoing testing, but it seems the whole family has come out to play, M3 sedan included. Last time, BMW first revealed the E92 coupe and only later decided to bring the E90 sedan out because people wanted better access to the back seats.
This time though, since more than a year and a half has passed between the F30 3 Series coming out and new 4 Series coupe being revealed. So we think BMW will actually launch the M3 and M4 at the same time.
This M3 sedan prototype has been caught out in the open, testing with very minimal camouflage covering only part of its bumpers. Almost every line can be made out.
Have to say though, compared to the M4 Concept from Pebble Beach, this car is rather subdued. There are no carbon fiber exhaust tips or roof and the paint is a very boring gray.
As far as performance is concerned, the M3 will have a 3-liter engine, likely a twin-turbo, with 420 hp. It should be good for 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds and and a limited top speed of 250 km/h. Some rumors have suggested there will only be an M-DCT transmission, but parts codes and videos of the car indicate a manual is still available.
