Here are the very first spy photos we’ve been able to show you of the brand new Cadillac ELR. The car is a range-extended electric coupe, based on the design of the 2009 Converj Concept, which should be ready for production as a 2014 model year.
The ELR will be styled like a Cadillac, with angular headlights and powerful shoulders. But the power will come from the a drivetrain based on the Chevy Volt and its European cousin, the Opel Ampera. In fact, when it does enter production, the Cadillac EV will be built at the fame factory as the Volt, GM’s Hamtramck in the US, though China will likely also have local production.

We’re hoping Cadillac will through in a lot more luxury content than Chevy was able to. Stuff like LED lights, the CUE entertainment system a wood trim could be quite interesting to see.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
