Suzuki has just started testing on the brand new SX4. This replacement model will arrive with more of CUV body style instead of the jacked up small hatchback. This is a good thing, because the Japanese automaker really doesn’t have stand-out vehicles right now.
These spy photos were taken as Suzuki engineers were testing the car under hot weather conditions in Spain harsh summer climate.
The SX4 is heavily camouflaged right now, but we can clearly make out the Suzuki badge on top of a prominent grille. The large headlights definitely borrow from the Kizashi sedan.
The previous generation SX4 was built in partnership with Fiat Group, which sold it as the Sedici. However, this time around, the Italians have their own version, the 500X crossover.
With the Suzuki-VW deal having fallen through, the Japanese automaker will probably have to look inward for engine options.
