Spyshots: 2013 Mercedes S-Class and a Reindeer Winter Testing

Want proof that automakers put car through tougher conditions when doing winter testing than you can? Here you go: a set of images of the next generation Mercedes S-Class in Northern Scandinavia. Yes, we’ve all seen sub-zero conditions and icy roads, but you see a Reindeer crossing the road, that’s when you know the testing is real.

Based on these spyshots, we can tell you that the new Mercedes S-Klasse appears to be longer and boasts a slightly bigger wheelbase. The clear focus should be creating an extraordinary amount of interior space and legroom.

In the engine department, expect to see the next S550 making use of a 429 twin-turbo V8, while the S600 should pack about 510 hp for wafting about from its V12. The AMG version for those in the mode for some hooligan sideways action should have about 550 horsepower from the new AMG 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8.
