The big car segment is now getting more competitive than ever, and Mercedes is almost ready to launch the next S-Class. And so BMW needs to keep up to date with the development and improvement of the 7-Series.
Our spy photographers have caught up with a prototype version of the 2013 7-Series facelift in icy Scandinavia, where the car was testing on a specially designed winter track.
The exterior changes are minimal, but evident in the masked up headlights. There are new bumpers on the car, which resemble the F30 3-Series, while the headlights make the obvious switch to full LED. The indicators have been moved to the top of these and are also LED.
The biggest technical change is the introduction of the new eight-speed automatic built by ZF, a replacement for the current seven-speed unit.
Since Geneva has not revealed the 7-Series facelift, we expect it to debut at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show in April.
