Spyshots: 2012 Chevrolet Orlando
In fact, there's not much to see here as the captured model is completely camouflaged, with both the front and the rear fascia additionally covered for more "protection".
Still, we do know that the Chevrolet Orlando will be based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Cruze and Volt, which basically means that it will inherit several features from these two models. For example, expect the interior to be very similar to the one seen on the Cruze, especially the center console which is likely to be identical with the sedan's.
It will have a wheelbase of 2,760 mm and will also feature a third row of seats. The engine lineup will include several engines, starting with a base 1.6-liter configuration and ending with a 2.0-liter unit. Obviously, each of these units will be specifically optimized for the lowest possible fuel consumption and emissions.
As we said, both General Motors and Chevrolet tried to keep the Orlando secret and it looks like they managed to do it pretty well. However, the car is projected to go on sale in the last months of 2011 or in early 2012.
