Spyshots: 2010 SAAB 9-5
As you can see for yourselves in the adjacent photos, the car comes with lots of camouflage covering the most important parts of the revised model but, thanks to the CGIs published in the photo gallery below the article, we can still discover a few new things of the vehicle.
First of all, the 9-5 comes with a revised rear, similar to a coupe, with several styling elements to be sourced from the 9-4x BioPower concept. Furthermore, the new model will be heavier, taller and longer compared to the current model, with the wheelbase to be increased by around 14 cm.
Although there's no word on the engine configurations to be included in the new range, the 2010 9-5 will come equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine that generates 210 horsepower and mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission. There will be several other engines available as well, with a 2.8-liter V6 unit to be offered to European buyers and a 3.6-liter V6, similar with the one installed on the Buick LaCrosse, to be sold in the United States. A diesel option plus a hybrid powertrain is likely to join the range in the next years.
The car will be officially unveiled to the general public this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show opening its doors in September.
