Sport package for the SL 350 and 500
The most noticeable are probably the 19 inch wheels with the five twin spokes straight line rims featuring the Mercedes star. These wheels are accompanied by the styled front brake calipers, painted in silver and marked with the Mercedes-Benz lettering. Let's not forget the perforated brake discs at the back and the dark-tinted tail lights.
If you want to get more technical, know that the SL package includes a new sports air filter that makes the SL 350 sound a little bit better. But the star of the show is the 7G-TRONIC Sport seven-speed automatic transmission. Apparently, this is the only passenger car in the world which has this transmission. Using this transmission you can change the gears manually or you could leave your hands on the steering wheel and use the steering-wheel shift paddles (Alonso eat your heart out!).
As for the interior, there are now silver-coloured contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel, center console and the door linings and some velour floor mats to top it all. All of this will set you back some EUR 2,975, tax included but it is only available for the SL 350 and the SL 500.
