Children toy and baby products manufacturer Peg Perego is excited to announce the launch of their new product - the Polaris Slingshot. Yep, they got licensed to build a scaled down version of the popular roadster for kids to enjoy the experience.
"When Polaris® first introduced the Slingshot®, we were immediately taken with the dynamic design and saw the potential for an exciting and unique riding experience for children," said Nicolas Perego, president of Peg Perego USA. "We have had great success with other products in the Polaris® line, and believe the Slingshot® will resonate with kids and adults alike."
The Peg Perego Polaris Slingshot is mostly made out of durable ABS plastic, and it perfectly imitates the real deal, apart from the rear wheel, where it comes with two instead of one to increase stability. The toy vehicle is powered by a 12 V battery and comes with a speed selector, ranging from 2.5 to 5 mph (4-8 km/h). Parents have the possibility to put a speed limiter on the selector that won’t let it slide into top gear.
Another useful feature is the reverse gear and the vehicle’s ability to go over multiple types of surfaces, like asphalt, grass, gravel and even some light mud, although in the latter case you’ll have a hard time washing your minion and the Slingshot itself.
Other features include a windshield, rollbars, bucket seats and an MP3 holder. The Slingshot can take two children between 3 and 8 years, up to a maximum total weight of 130 lb (58 kg).
A charger is provided as standard to recharge the battery, and there’s even an optional 12 V Quick Charger to do the same thing in only 2 hours. The Peg Perego Polaris Slingshot is available in Walmart stores, select Polaris dealerships and online retailers, wearing a price tag of around $400.
We just hope it won't suddenly catch fire like the real one...
