After releasing the Mazda3 Tamura in January, the British division of Mazda has just revealed the special edition Takuya (Japanese for ‘pioneer’) range, which is expected to follow the wheel tracks of the successful Tamura launched last year. There are three special models included in the range, namely the Mazda2 Takuya, Mazda3 Takuya, and Mazda6 Takuya.

"Previous Special Edition Mazda models have proved hugely popular, fast selling and boast impressive residual values. The Takuya range offers yet another reason for value-seeking consumers that want something different to the mainstream to head down to their local Mazda dealership this summer,"
Mark Cameron, sales director, Mazda UK, said in a release.

All three cars are fitted with Bluetooth, electric rear windows, fog lights, leather gear shift knob, leather steering wheel, and metallic paint, but that is only part of the package.

The Mazda2 also comes equipped with an aerokit, body-coloured heated electric folding side mirrors, 16-inch alloys, multi-function steering wheel, and a black sports trim.  Similar features are seen on the Mazda3, which gets 17-inch wheels along with a six-CD changer, rain sensing wipers, LED lighting and dual zone automatic climate control.

On the other hand, the Mazda6 comes with a new grille, while inside features include leather trimmed heated seats and armrest, alloy pedals, automatic lights, rain sensing wipers, dimming rear view mirror, and 18-inch alloys.

Pricing for the Mazda2 Takuya 1.3 five-door starts from £11,915, while the Mazda3 Takuya 1.6 five-door starts at £15,780. The Mazda6 Takuya ranges from £19,845 for the 2.0 five-door, to £21,595 for the 2.2D Estate. Finally, the Mazda6 wears a price tag of £20,945 in the 2.2D as a five-door version.
