Some Say this Is the Fastest Diesel Powered Car in the World – Video

BMW has a most impressive diesel engine in the shape of the N57S unit. Don’t know what that is? It’s the tri-turbo 3-liter diesel from the M550d and M50d models, but its 381 HP are nothing compared to what we’re bringing you today.
The guys from Profi Tuning took a standard BMW 335d xDrive model and gave it their best performance kit to turn it into a proper beast. The standard 3-liter inline 6-cylinder biturbo engine is good for 313 HP and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. With it, the 3er is blazing fast thanks also in part to the all-wheel drive system

It will do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) that’s electronically limited. Well, the car the tuner put together is… let’s say a bit faster.

The engine was taken up to 440 HP and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, and it’s still an all-wheel drive vehicle. That means that the acceleration now takes just 4 seconds, the diesel 3er becoming even faster than the M3. Since it has 10 HP and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) more and AWD, it’s understandable…

On top of that, all the extra torque helps the sedan go from 100 to 200 km/h (62-124 mph) in just 11 seconds while reaching 200 km/h (124 mph) from a standstill takes just 15 seconds flat.

Therefore, the claim from Profi Tuning does seem reasonable to say the least. However, we’d like to check the internet before claiming this thing is the fastest diesel-powered car in the world, so we’re asking you if you know anything that pulls harder. Let us know in the comment section below. Until then, let’s enjoy some acceleration footage.
