smart fortwo nightorange Edition Presented

Having no actual new model to introduce on the market in the past few years, Daimler's smart has been trying, for the past few years or so, to keep the consumers' interest up by releasing a whole bunch of special editions of the tiny car.

2011 is no exception and, until smart becomes all it can be in the years to come (the model has a pivotal role in Daimler's future strategy), Daimler thought it best to introduce a new such edition: the smart fortwo nightorange.

As usual with special edition smarts, there is virtual no change to talk about when it comes to the performances of the car. Wearing the same 1l and 0.8l 3 cylinder units as always (with 3 power ratings: 71 hp petrol, 84 hp petrol, 54 hp diesel), the car however brings a bit more color to the aging model.

Wearing an exclusive orange metallic finish combined with a black tridion safety cell and black 3-double-spoke alloy wheels, the smart features black painted headlamp trims, black mirror caps and nightorange logos in the mirror triangles.

At the interior, the theme seen on the outside is continued with the help of black seats (leather and fabric) with an orange sport stripe in the middle, pearl black instrument trims, black door trim and black instrument panel nappa leather 3-spoke sports steering wheel.

The new special edition will be offered for both the coupe and the cabrio versions (orders can be placed as of now, deliveries to begin in February). Prices start at EUR13,995 for the 71 hp petrol mhd version and can reach EUR18,345 for the 54 hp cdi diesel with diesel particulate filter cabrio version.
