Small Jeep to be Built by Fiat in Italy, Compass and Patriot Replacement in the US
This will be a B-segment crossover, that will also receive a Fiat badge and, according to Automotive News (sub. req.), the vehicle will be brought to life at Fiat’s Minafiori plant in Italy. The vehicle could also make it into the US.
The site was originally selected as the European factory that will build the vehicle that will replace the Jeep Compass and Patriot models, but company insiders have told the aforementioned source that the aforementioned vehicle, which could also get an Alfa Romeo version (we though Alfa had dropped its SUV plans in favor of a rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan), will be built in the US.
Fiat has recently officially revealed that the Minafiori site will be rebuilt next year, adding that a year after that its production lines will start rolling out a Jeep SUV.
