Back in March, as the 2014 edition of the Geneva Motor Show was getting ready to open its doors to the public, the peeps from Mercedes-Benz were unveiling a pair of special edition variants for both the SLK and the SL, infusing some much needed glitter on the two roadsters.
As it happens, the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG and the SL 65 AMG 2Look Edition have finally reached dealerships, an event which comes just in time for the SL 63 AMG variant to receive the recently reported modifications.

If some of you remember, about two months ago Mercedes-AMG GmbH announced that the SL 63 AMG will suffer a host of modifications to make it even more desirable, with its engine being the main target for the upgrade.

In other words, starting with today, every Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG in either “normal spec” or 2Look Edition, will no longer have the optional Performance Package, but will instead gain a standard limited-slip differential, while the power will increase to 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque.

Getting back to the SL 63 and SL 65 AMG Roadster 2Look Edition, the two models will obviously sport a greater degree of “lookatmeness”, mainly thanks to a gorgeous combination of exclusive exterior and interior appointments.

On the exterior, a high-gloss black color now adorns the retractable vario-roof, the cross-strut in the AMG front apron, the exterior mirror housings, the fins on the wings and hood, the surrounds of the LED daylight running laps, the spoiler lip on trunk and the diffuser insert in the AMG rear apron.

Also 2Look Edition-specific are either 19-inch or 20-inch AMG ten-spoke forged wheels, which are painted in matte black and feature a high-sheen finish which works pretty great with the red-painted brake calipers.

The models' interiors are also exclusive to the special edition, with the two-tone look being kept in an arguably more subtle manner.

Both occupants are now engulfed in a sea of fine designo leather in platinum white pearl on certain parts of the interior, while the center console sports a designo black piano lacquer.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG 2Look Edition starts from EUR 169,991.50, while the SL 65 AMG 2Look Edition starts at a fitting EUR 244,188.00, each including the Value Added Tax in Germany.
