Skoda Rapid Coupe Coming in 2014
It seems I might be wrong. A report from Autoblog.nl states that Skoda could be working on a two-door version of the Rapid liftback sedan that will debut next year.
Why next year? To celebrate 30 years since the 1984 Rapid coupe.
The platform will be basically the same as the sedan, and so a wide range of engines will be offered, both TDI and TSI with manual or DSG gearboxes. This new Skoda would be a direct competitor to the Renault Megane Coupe.
Totally unconnected to this story, we've been hearing a strange rumor that Skoda and Volkswagen are working on a 1.6-liter TSI turbo with 180 PS that would replace the 1.4-liter Twincharger.
