Gardner Kevin Nick from Oxfordshire has used his own Volkswagen to create a shed on wheels. The transformation came not just for the occasional pictures locals take with the contraption, but also to break a speed record set on April 1, 2011 in Milan, Italy on the set of Lo Show Dei Record.
British meets Italian in the drag race? That’s not precisely the case, but it could make for an excellent show. No, this speedy shed exists for one sole purpose, becoming the best, the fastest in the world respectively. And judging by its features it may just succeed. So here’s what’s in the house.

See those gardening windows? They are electric. That’s not all, though; there’s a remote central locking system and an air conditioning system keep things nice and cosy. In terms of performance, we’re looking at a 200 bhp vee six engine powering all four wheels at once. The exterior may be out of wood, but you shouldn’t worry about strength, considering the gardener-turned-into-mechanic used a steel frame to build the contraption.

The vehicle’s principal purpose was clearly not that of obtaining high speeds. However, that is not stopping its creator from trying to break the world record for the fastest shed. Until that moment comes, however, he is also using the vehicle as an advertising tool, which makes sense considering the head-turning force it has.

Now, since we are talking about different speed records, we figured some Friday fun wouldn’t harm anyone. So we checked out the Guinness World Records website for similar deeds. Two of them caught our attention and we figured they are worth mentioning. The fastest piggy back race is over one mile (1.61 km), and it took 11 minutes and 58 seconds. Then there’s also the fastest 100 m on a skateboard by a dog which was 19.65 seconds and was achieved in 2013.
