Shadow Rocket, the Taiwanese Black Beauty

Winston Yeh of Rough Crafts is one of the best examples of what Asian creativity can produce when it comes to custom motorcycles, and his latest beast, the Shadow Rocket couldn't be a better proof.

The Taiwan-based Rough Crafts' Shadow Rocket is a reinterpretation of a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy Softail. Now, don't go looking for the Fat Boy features: they've been long gone, as the Shadow Rocket is a different kind of beast. Forget about all the chrome sparkle: the new Rough Crafts creation is all about shadow and menacing dark glitter.

You're not mistaking if Roland Sands pops into the mind: the Shadow Rocket uses actual RSD Harley-Davidson custom parts, nicely fitted to the carefully modified Softail. The tank and fender are custom-made by Yeh, while the frame also received some re-shaping, including shorter forks with Progressive Suspension springs.

Bars, controls and air cleaner, and exhaust, they're all Rough Crafts originals. The Twin Cam 88B engine is standard, but has received a new paint job to match the overall darkness shrouding the Shadow Rocket. A clear varnish on the top of the tank leaving the carbon fiber in plain sight is making things look even meaner, and we totally dig the Rough Crafts' Shadow Rocket.
