Scirocco Legend is Reborn

It was 34 years ago, at the Geneva auto show that a legend was born, the Volkswagen Scirocco. Today, the show must go on. If the original model was intended to be a sports car for the masses, easy to drive and to repair, based on the platform of the popular Golf, the new one continues the tradition. It's a reasonably priced sports car, with enough room for four passengers, powerful engines and sleek styling.

As a car "expresses its feelings" though powerful engines, Scirocco has some choices, three petrol and a diesel power plant. The 1.4 TSI engine comes in two power stages, the first developing 122 Hp, and the second, unleashing 160. The most powerful version available for the moment is the 2.0 TFSI 200 Hp, which can "drink" only 7,6 liters while reaching 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds. When it comes to diesel, the new model has a 2 liter TDi engine which develops 140 Hp.

The new model comes with lots of standard features including 17 inch alloy wheels, electric windows, air conditioning, sport seats and “Adaptive chassis control” and it will be available in European showrooms in late summer, this year. With prices starting from 21,750 euros in Germany, the new car is for sure a tempting offer. More images in the gallery below.
