German top-drawer helmet manufacturer Schuberth shows their latest in the world of wireless motorcycle communication system, the SRCS (Schuberth Rider Communication System) for the S2 helmet.
Schuberth S2 is the world's only motorcycle helmet with an integrated antenna for Bluetooth and FM communication and reception. The S2 helmet thus can be plugged directly into the SRC-system and offers enhanced communication range and better FM radio reception.
The new intercom system allows up to three riders to talk to each other simultaneously and supports a heap of Bluetooth-enabled third party devices such as mobile phoned, GPS navigation units, MP3 players and so on.
The system is integrated in a snap-on replacement collar that's both easy to install and operate, providing a communication range up to 700 meters depending on visual contact and terrain, with automatic connection re-establishment after cutoff, and auto shutdown after 30 seconds of silence.
The Schuberth S2 SRCS allows voice-triggered operations and multiple setup options using the supplied Windows software. Expected price for the S2 SRC System is around $429 (€330); not at all cheap, but high comfort comes with a high price.
