When somebody hears the SCG 003 name for the first time, we imagine that he or she would think of a photocopier or washing machine. In fact, SCG 003 is the pet project of Hollywood director and banker James Glickenhaus, and it's an exquisite hypercar that'll cost €2.1 million in road-going guise.
To be ready for unveiling at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Glickenhaus has revealed that the $2.77 million SCG 003 is going to adopt an unspecified range of engines, the pick of the bunch being a twin-turbo V12. James didn't say a word about power, but he did mention that in terms of power-to-weight ratio, the 003 will offer Koenigsegg One:1-rivaling figures (1 hp per 2.2 lbs/1 kilogram).
Described by Glickenhaus as a GT type of car with Le Mans LMP1 blood running through its veins, the road-going version of the SCG 003 will be derived for racing as well. That carbon fiber skeleton you see in the photo above will be used for both variations, but the racecar will get a Honda HPD-sourced 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine. In comparison to the blown V12, it's known that the V6 will get over 500 ponies and the whole car will weigh around 725 kgs (1,598 lbs).
James hopes to get an overall win at the 2015 Nurburgring 24 Hours with it, which is a mighty impressive statement for a boutique vehicle such as the SGC 003. But nevertheless, Glickenhaus is the owner of an uber cool and mind-bending fast Ferrari P4/5 Competitizone that came 12th overall and 1st in the EXP-1 class at the N24, so who knows what the racing version SGC 003 might achieve at the Ring.
