Sauber Blasts Ferrari, McLaren for Unsporting Conduct

Needless to say, Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes were the teams to benefit the most from the outcome of the Korean Grand Prix, which saw both Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel record DNFs. After the Yeongam-based event, we have a new leader of the F1 classification in the person of Fernando Alonso, while also 4 drivers separated by a single race win on top of the standings.

And nobody can deny the fact that only the immense bad luck experienced by Red Bull on Sunday made the title equation get more complicated with 2 rounds to go.

Speaking of which, some of you who happened to watch the race live have probably noticed the immense enthusiasm in the Ferrari and McLaren garages once Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel went out of the race. While the Australian driver failed to keep his car on the track early in the race and crashed into the wall, Vettel's car experienced an engine failure and had to be parked outside the track.

According to BMW Sauber-Ferrari's team owner Peter Sauber, the reaction from Ferrari's and McLaren's pit crews after Vettel's DNF was unacceptable and totally unsportsmanlike.

They were scenes that didn't please me at all. Very unsporting,” said 67-year-old Sauber in a post-race interview with Swiss daily Blick.

Although Red Bull have left the Yeongam site empty handed on Sunday, their position in the manufacturers' classification has remained untouched, as they still lead from McLaren Mercedes by 27 points.
