SAE Ride and Drive to Offer 14 Vehicle Models
There will be a total of 25 vehicles available at Cobo Center's Macomb Hall. Participants can take a vehicle on a 10-minute drive April 12-14, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “The Ride and Drive is open to the media and all registered attendees,” organizers say.
OEMs and suppliers participating in this year's Ride and Drive include the host of the 2011 SAE World Congress, General Motors, which will provide six different models.
The 2011 SAE World Congress is centered around the “Charging Forward Together” theme, which is meant to highlight the importance of continuing the evolution of automotive propulsion technology and energy efficiency.
“The SAE World Congress is a strong commitment to the individual engineer as well as the industry. There is no other place for those in the automotive community to gather and expand their knowledge and training; to walk away from every activity knowing more talented people and significant information than when they arrived,” said Karl Stracke, Vice President, Global Vehicle Engineering, General Motors and SAE 2011 World Congress General Chairman.
