Russian Military Truck Runs Over People Without Hurting Them

No matter how crazy petrol heads get about taking cars to the limit, we like to believe there is no sane person out there that would deliberately run over a pedestrian. However, it would seem Russians do face situations when they need powerful 6x6 trucks that are able to do that without hurting them.

In Carmageddon, the player would race a vehicle against a number of other computer controlled competitors in various settings. He was supposed to complete the race in time, but he could delay that moment getting bonuses, damaging the other racers’ cars or by running over pedestrians. It’s quite an old game, but it had its fair share of popularity back in the day. One thing is clear however, that was just a game, nothing real about it, of course.

In our case it would seem the Russians are in fact using this truck precisely to save people. You see, it turns out one of their problems is the snow in some areas of the country, which is where a 6x6 truck comes in handy.

Named Trekol-39294, it’s made out of fiber glass (of course) and uses special low-pressure tubeless tires, which not only enables its victims to be run over without any harm, but also allows it to float on water, snow, grass and basically anywhere. The six-wheeled amphibious all-terrain vehicle is available on two versions, passenger and freight.

The 39294 model is manufactured using Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) and Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) parts, which allegedly ensures easy operation, maintenance and repairs. The fiber glass body has a very low thermal conductivity and the possibility of operating at  temperatures between -45 to +45 degrees Celsius.

Capable of a maximum speed of 70 km/h (43.5 mph), these all-terrain vehicles may be equipped with petrol or diesel engines, as well as water jets to move through the water.
